School Nurses will perform health screenings (vision, hearing, and scoliosis) at certain grade levels during the year. Parents may file a statement annually denying consent.
When there is good reason to believe that your child is suffering from a recognized contagious or infectious disease, your child will be sent home and will not be permitted to return until the School Nurse is satisfied that any contagious or infectious disease does not exist. (Ed. Code 49451 / 48980) This also includes head lice. Contact the school nurse for more information.
